The World's First
Green Soccer League

The Vision

Build the Teams, Build the Stadiums,
Build Rivalry, Ignite the Passion.

Liga Pro is the foundation for First Division-quality football (soccer) in Puerto Rico.  It allows player development to continue beyond age 17 into professionalism.  Puerto Rico’s elite players in the age range 12 to 24 will comprise the Puerto Rico National Team of 2026.  Our mission is to serve them well, by serving as that next step in player development that turns great players into world class players.  Hurricane Maria in 2017 demanded that PRSL invest in brand new facilities and build a new League structure that would guide Puerto Rico’s top-level players into professionalism and offer them a real opportunity to become mundialistas in 2026.

First quality soccer infrastructure – the best in the Caribbean and Central America – in conformance with all FIFA and CONCACAF requisites to host and broadcast FIFA sanctioned international matches, at the feet of Puerto Rico’s ten best teams, all shareholders in the Puerto Rico Soccer League.  A single-entity, well-funded, for-profit, professionally operated corporation that, similar to Major League Soccer™ and the National Basketball Association™, has the interests of all its members equally present at all times, all its members work towards one unified vision – RUMBO AL MUNDIAL 2026™, and its investors and sponsors have a tangible, first quality product that is consistent and reliable.

"The Puerto Rico Soccer League developed the roadmap to the 2026 World Cup counting on two primary needs; first class infrastructure and a first class operated League. LigaPro accomplishes both of these goals".

- Joey Serralta - Chairman - LigaPro & Puerto Rico Soccer League

The Green Stadiums

A network of green eco-friendly stadiums, that will host the beautiful game and create opportunity for players, fans, teams and commerce in Puerto Rico.

PRSLSafeStadiums™, like many inventions, was born out of adversity.  Hurricane Maria and its devastating fury left Puerto Rico vulnerable.  Hundreds of thousands were left homeless overnight, an exodus of 400,000 to the mainland, equivalent to the U.S. losing 35 million residents within months, and millions more in an island of just over 3 million would not have electrical power until one year later.  Today, three years after Hurricane Maria, faded blue roof tarps still cover unrepaired, leaking homes.  Imagine that.

Every PRSLSafeStadiumTM  serves as proof of concept of a resilient and sustainable sports and entertainment venue that transforms, within hours, into a community shelter capable of enduring Category 5 hurricanes and strong earthquakes of magnitude 7 on the Richter scale, that offers medical services, kitchen services, and renewable energy 24/7/365.

"The affiliation of the PRSLSafeStadiums with the United Nations Sports for Climate Action initiative places Puerto Rico in the advantageous position of serving as proof of concept to the sports world of how to build resiliently and sustainably in an island that is regularly battered by hurricanes, earthquakes, global warming and coastal erosion."

- Ibrahim Reyes, Esquire - Chairman and General Counsel - LigaPro & Puerto Rico Soccer League

Every PRSLSafeStadium™ is a socioeconomic generator, with business and social activities seven days a week.  Barbershops and beauty spas, restaurants and sports bars, vocational training schools and tutoring centers, gymnasiums and sports shops, offer the community and the players and their families a place to gather and have breakfast with a neighbor, a power lunch with a business associate, or an after work cocktail with coworkers and friends while enjoying live broadcasts of world sporting events.

In October 2019, the PRSL became Signatory to the United Nations due to its PRSLSafeStadiums™ Project and its commitment to building with resilient and sustainable materials and techniques.  In March 2020, PRSL was accepted into the Momentum for Change competition of the United Nations, in its Sports for Climate Action initiative.  WE envision replicating these projects throughout Puerto Rico, the Caribbean, Latin America and beyond, thus aiding league and club owners worldwide to lower greenhouse gas emissions significantly.

The League

A competitive, professional league for Puerto Rican players and communities.

The League, due to its single-entity character and for-profit status, provides year-round training and competitions at the First Division level, led by world class players that include mundialistas, professional managers and vested owners who are shareholders.  This approach represents a shift in Puerto Rico’s football (soccer) paradigm – lack of funds, and as a result, lack of initiative.

The Puerto Rico Soccer League and LigaPro self-funds its projects, offering Puerto Rico’s municipalities the unique opportunity to have private entities partner with them in Public Private Partnerships (P3’s) to develop lifesaving stadiums that are state-of-the-art and best in class, by expanding their soccer base at no initial cost to the Municipality while offering world class training and games, and by adding socioeconomic impact to the region.

World Cup Reality

Puerto Rico will proudly be present in all FIFA World Cups from 2026 and beyond.

Liga Pro’s management includes World and Gold Cup players, Olympians and National Team members from Puerto Rico, the U.S., Mexico, Venezuela, Colombia, Brazil, and Argentina who understand what was required of them to get there.  Liga Pro will develop ten professional clubs that will produce 44 world class players, from which the starting 11 for the 2026 World Cup will arise.  These young men are aged 12 to 24 today.  Moreover, most of them will play professional soccer and receive scholarship offers.  Our commitment is to them.
